Pant puts hand up for T20 World Cup with ‘lightning-fast’ stumping vs GT

DC captain Rishabh Pant put up an incredible performance against GT in the Indian Premier League on Wednesday, 17 April. Playing at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Pant was at his very best in the first innings of the game. While Pant has batted well through the tournament, on Wednesday, Pant pulled off a stunning display behind the stumps.

Not only did Pant complete a diving catch in the fifth over of the match, picking the ball at a very low height from the ground, the DC captain also affected two brilliant stumpings. Pant did very well to guide his bowlers to deliver the right deliveries which worked out well for the DC side.

Delhi put Gujarat in the lot of trouble away from home, after winning the toss and bowling first at the Narendra Modi Stadium. After Mukesh Kumar and Ishant Sharma destroyed the GT top-order, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and Tristan Stubbs kept DC in check outside of the powerplay. There was no respite for the GT batters as the bowling unit extracted every bit of help from the pitch and put the hosts in a shell.
