MAAARING maitala ang inflation rate mula 5.3 hanggang 6.1 per- cent ngayong Setyembre, ayon sa Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
“Higher prices of fuel, electricity, and key agricultural commodities, as well as the peso depreciation are the primary sources of upward price pressures in September,” pahayag ng BSP.
“Meanwhile, lower rice and meat prices could contribute to downward price pressures for the month,” ayon pa sa central bank. Matapos ang Monetary Policy meet- ing noong September 21 ay itinaas ng BSP ang inflation outlook nito para sa 2023 sa 5.8% mula sa naunang pagtaya na 5.3%.
Binago ng BSP ang inflation projections nito para ngayong taon at sa susunod na taon sa gitna ng inaasahang spillovers effects mula sa weather disturbances, tumataas na presyo ng krudo sa pandaigdigang merkado, at sa paghina ng piso.
“Going forward, the BSP will continue to monitor developments affecting the outlook for inflation and growth in line with its data dependent approach to monetary policy formulation,” anang central bank.
Makaraang bumagal sa loob ng anim na buwan, ang inflation ay bumilis noong Agosto sa 5.3 percent kasunod ng pagtaas ng presyo ng langis at pagkain, partkular ang bigas.
Nakatakdang ilabas ng Philippine Sta- tistics Authority (PSA) ang official infla- tion figures para sa Setyembre sa Oktubre 5, 2023.
