Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja thanked the loyal fans of the franchise for supporting him and the team even without being able to watch their games live after their 6-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders in Dubai on Thursday.
CSK rode on Ruturaj Gaikwad’s 72 and a brilliant cameo from Jadeja to chase down 173 in 20 overs in what was yet another consolation win for the three-time champions after a disappointing campaign this season.
CSK though, were in a spot of bother when Jadeja came to the crease at 140 for 4, needing another 33 from 17 balls. They didn’t lose their nerves though, as Jadeja and Sam Curran put on a 38-run unbroken partnership for the 5th wicket to take the team over the line.
Jadeja remained unbeaten on 31 off 11 balls while Curran was not out on 13 as CSK took the entire 20 overs to overhaul the target. The left-handed Jadeja hit 2 sixes off the final two balls of the match seal victory for the yellow brigade.
Jadeja later dedicated the win to CSK fans. “This one was for the fans. Thank you for the fantastic support,” Jadeja tweeted.

After the match Jadeja analysed the final two overs and how clear he was in his thought-process while facing Nagarkoti and Lockie Ferguson.
“I was hitting it well in the nets and just wanted to do that again. The last 12 balls you don’t have to think too much, just see the ball and hit the ball.
“I was just looking to keep my shape and back my strength. I knew if they bowl in my arc, I could hit the six, it was simple. When you play good competitive cricket and win matches for your team, you always feel happy,” Jadeja said.
CSK are already out of contention for the playoffs and will be bowing out of the competition after their final league game against Kings XI Punjab in Abu Dhabi on November 1.
