Just hours before their IPL 2020 opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday, the squad of Sunrisers Hyderabad took to Dubai International Stadium to send out a message in support of Covid-19 frontline workers all across the country.
The squad, in their orange jersey, stood in the middle of the cricket pitch, and clapped their hands in support of the frontline warriors.
The video was posted on the official Twitter handle of the Sunrisers Hyderabad with the caption, ‘A BIG THANK YOU from the #SRHFamily to all the frontline workers across the world and everyone involved in bringing back cricket in our lives’.
The skipper David Warner stood in the middle of the group and could be seen leading his side in vociferously cheering for the Covid-19 frontline workers.

Cricket and all other sports activities were on a pause since March 2020 after the number of cases in India and the rest of the world shot up.
The Indian Premier League this year was shifted out of India due to the surge in coronavirus cases, and is being played at three venues in the UAE Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
SRH a good mix of youngsters and experience, says Warner
The Sunrisers Hyderabad, champions of IPL 2016, have been a dominant side in the Indian Premier League since that win, and have made it to the playoffs every year since.
They start as favourites to win the trophy this year as well, and skipper David Warner believes that their squad has the balance that is required to go the distance.
On Sunday, in a virtual media interaction, Warner said that he believes that his side is a good mix of youngsters and experienced players.
“Yes, it is good to have a lot of youngsters in the middle-order. They bring a lot of enthusiasm and show the right kind of attitude, too. I have been hearing some very good reports about it on social media and hope they translate their talent into performances,” Warner said.
Speaking about the balance that is there in his side, he emphasised that Kane Williamson and Jonny Bairstow, will also be key to their team’s success.
“We have plenty of experience with the likes of Kane, (Jonny) Bairstow, Vijay Shankar to name a few. We got a job on our hand for sure,” he added.
