Brisbane Test: If there is one word to describe the courage of this Indian team its ‘dabanng’- Virender Sehwag

If there is one thing that Team India has done incredibly well in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, then it is the fight that they have shown in times of uncertainty.

It is not that India has dominated all sessions against Australia, there have been times that they have looked to be in trouble, but on most of those occasions someone has put his hand up and fought really well for the team.

Former India batsman Virender Sehwag on Sunday, for the umpteenth time during this series, applauded the team for their courage. He went on to say that this team has shown that it is ‘dabanng’.

“If there is one word to describe the courage of this Indian team, it’s Dabanng. So daring and brave. Ati Sundar Thakur,” Sehwag tweeted on Sunday.

The last reference is to India all-rounder Shardul Thakur, who showed an incredible fightback with debutant Washington Sundar and stitched together a 123-run partnership to get India out of trouble when they were languishing at 186/6 in response to Australia’s first innings score of 369.

In another tweet, Sehwag reiterate this point and said that India at one point looked like they would concede 133 runs, but eventually only gave the hosts a lead of 33.

“Adelaide 2003: India conceded a lead of 33. Today in Brisbane India concede 33, when at one stage it looked like they may end up conceding 133.

Great effort considering that Australia’s 4 bowlers had more than 1000 Test wickets to India’s 5 bowlers having 11. Shandar Zabardast,” he wrote.

In the 2003 Adelaide Test, India foughtback due to a brilliant 233-run knock by Rahul Dravid and went on to win a difficult Test match by 4 wickets.
